'Insights of Job Fair'2023 organised by FCCU'

Forman Christian College University (FCCU) is known for its diversity, liberal arts concepts, and how its frame of the student body as an example for others. When it comes to networking, FCCU has always been active, whether it is advising fair, job fair, or other academic interests. This year on 20th February 2023, FCCU organized a job fair and invited almost 86 companies, including some of the most prominent MNCs, including Pepsi, Macdonalds, etc. For great startup ideas that are generating great numbers in Pakistan. I had the opportunity to meet a few managers from different companies and ask about upcoming MTO programs and their KPIs.

There were a bunch of amazing Managers who represented their company's vision beautifully and who guided students accordingly. Among all of the companies I choose to write about, these three companies Intagleo Systems CureMD and Servis Retail Pvt Ltd . During one-to-one conversations, I asked a few important questions related to a fresh graduate perspective.

What Skillset are companies looking for?

Companies are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, skillful people. Who has been investing time in internships, practical work, NGO services, and learning new skills like AI, Analytics, excel etc. A graduate who is ready to learn new skills and unlearn old techniques. Most companies offer MTO programs to see where a student fits better and then adjust them accordingly, which I personally feel is a great way to let an employee discover his/her inner skillset.

What is Excel expertise required?

Basic Excel knowledge is a must for every company because technology is a need of the 21st century. Above basic, advanced knowledge will be a plus in the resume and so the interviews.

What opportunities do they have for fresh graduates for HR?

Different organizations or companies do have jobs opening, but not all companies offer HR positions at all times, as Human Resource Manager (HR) is specific. Normally companies offer MTO programs to make a fresh graduate familiar with the market.
