Insight with Olano: Edition 6
2023 has flown by and just like that, we’ve into Q4. Wow! Since our last Insight with Olano, the British summer appears to have been and very much disappeared again. Hopefully, you made the most of it!

L&D Engagement Begins Before Learning Starts
Whether you’re a developer building an eLearning course, a facilitator delivering some classroom training or a marketing manager looking to roll out a new employee advocacy programme, engagement is essential for success. Many of us often fall into the trap of interpreting “learner engagement” as meaning “engaging or interactive content”. They go down the route of creating fonts which draw attention, colour schemes which stand out and brands different to the norm. However, the effort spent developing these elements can be a complete waste of time if learners do not have a connection before the experience even begins. Discover how you can create a connection to boost L&D engagement.

What have Olano been up to?
Since our last edition, it’s been an extremely busy period for Olano. We’re very excited to be working with our latest new client, a global logistics company - and this month we have started our first exciting project with them!
If you’ve been following our newsletter, you will know we’ve been working with another client on a large-scale 3D animation project to simplify a technical manufacturing process. Great progress was made on this throughout September and we’re almost there with it now. Take a look to see what you think:
It’s been a particularly busy period for the team too, with Alex Norris , Ben Ibbotson , Rob Freeman and Sheena Fraser taking on a mammoth 34-mile walk from Leeds to Sheffield, the location of our office in a day – with the added challenge of being dressed as The Smurfs - raising funds for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) . They completed the feat in just under 15 hours and raised over £1500!
And then to finish September off, we went to grab a team lunch at Wagamama to celebrate Elena D'Ippolito returning back to the UK after spending some time remotely working in Italy. Welcome back Elena!
With the projects ramping up and lots going on in the team too, it’s probably accurate to say that September’s been the busiest month so far this year for Olano!
