Insight Into The Entrepreneurial World

Along my journey to becoming entrepreneur for an assignment in my Business 101 class with Professor?Varise Cooper, MBA, I had the amazing opportunity to interview my stepfather Antonio cabral. Antonio is a self-made man who has successfully navigated the industry as a small business owner, 35 years of volatile markets especially during Covid-19. Antonio came over from Santa Maria, Azores at the age of 14, knowing no English he immediately started to work and went to school. I’m fortunate to be able to learn from his experience and blessed to have his guidance throughout my future endeavors.

1.?????What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

Going into business, I know people who work in corporate for over 20 years. I look at both sides and try to figure out what path best works for me. “I liked the feeling of being self-sufiant and being independent, making it on my own was key in myself.”-Antonio Some people become entrepreneurs because they?see it as a mandatory journey to take. Their prior experience in the job market or achievements in education makes them realize that working may not be the path their destined to follow.??Entrepreneurs are driven with the need to succeed and control their own destiny. “It’s Lot of work but I could say I have more freedom.”-Antonio

2.?????How do you define success??

Success is defined in the webster dictionary as the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, and the correct or desired result of an attempt.?The definition of success can vary in a huge wide range of terms and options. “Success has different meanings to others but for me it means to be able to sustain myself, I have been doing this for 35 years. So, I now realized that money is not a major part (it is a key role) but for me it is a sense of self-fulfillment in myself but also, I hope I provide good service to my costumers because without that I will not be successful.”-Antonio

After my interview with Antonio Cabral, I really felt hopeful for my future! I learned so much about what goes into being an entrepreneur, and again I'm blessed to have his guidance throughout my future endeavors. I am exhilarated to continue my path at pace and Stay tuned for updates on my journey!
