Welcome to your Next Chapter, where you'll find weekly strategies to take action as you
Are you tired of drowning in an endless sea of insights? You know, the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People," "9 Ways to Hold on When You Want to Give Up," "5 Mistakes Women Need to Avoid," and oh, let's not forget the 100 other ways to be the version of yourself! It's like information overload on steroids!
When aiming to enhance your career or make a significant transition, such as venturing into entrepreneurship, it is common to experience a mix of excitement and fear. Progress and growth often involve confronting and overcoming fears, as achieving success without any trepidation is quite rare, like spotting a white horse.
Consequently, you will diligently search far and wide to gather the knowledge required to drive your actions towards the desired outcome. Isn't that true?
Well, let me share a little secret with you.
I'm a Certified Franklin Covey facilitator for several of their products! And let me tell you, the first day I sat in my certification workshop, I was on fire! I mean, my excitement levels were through the roof as I absorbed all the wisdom from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It was like a caffeine boost for my soul!
I rushed home and couldn't shut up about it. My poor husband had to endure my non-stop chatter about the?insights and life-changing moments. I was determined to condense the 7-hour workshop into a 15-minute conversation. Talk about efficiency!
The next day couldn't come fast enough. I was like a kid on Christmas morning, eager to unwrap more knowledge. The course lasted three whole days, and let me tell you, it was mind-blowing. I'm not even exaggerating!
But here's where things took a wrong turn. At the end of those three enlightening days, something hit me like a ton of bricks. I was devastated. One because I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to start to apply what I learned—No I wasn't being incompetent! I was also upset because I berated myself for not stumbling upon this life-changing knowledge earlier. I started blaming my pains on my lack of 7 Habits wisdom. Silly, I know.
I had a whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. On one hand, I was elated to have discovered ways to be more effective in my relationships at work and home. On the other hand, I was mourning the lost time it took me to find these precious insights. It was like finding a hidden treasure only to realize it was buried right in your backyard all along.
It took me a while to accept that everything happens at the right time.
For me, that time was back in 2012 when I obtained my certification. Back then, we didn't have Ai platforms for the non-tech brain or bite-sized learning videos to feast upon.
Online learning existed but was as rare and expensive as a unicorn. I am assuming it probably wasn't until LinkedIn Learning acquired Lynda.com in 2015 that the floodgates of accessible online knowledge burst wide open.
Nowadays, it's raining online learning platforms every time you blink!
Choosing one is like picking your favorite flavor at an ice cream shop. And here I am, trying to navigate my way through an ICF Executive Leadership Certification. It's like being lost in a labyrinth of choices!
We live in the age of knowledge, where we've become voracious consumers of information.
And that's a good thing!
However, here's the catch: you can read every book, attend every workshop, and soak up all the brilliant insights the world has to offer. But if you don't put that knowledge into action, well, you might as well be living on another planet!
Why possess all these amazing insights without applying them? The purpose of gaining insight is to create remarkable work that captivates humanity and leaves us begging for more.
It's about making a real impact, not just accumulating knowledge for the sake of it.

So, here's a piece of advice for you: find the sweet spot between gaining insights and taking action. While insights are like precious gems, they won't magically transform your life unless you do something with them. Convert those insights into tangible steps and implement them in your life and work.
??? From Insights to Action
There are several avenues where you can seek help to put insights into action.
1?? Mentorship: Look for experienced individuals in your field or area of interest who can guide and support you in applying insights to real-world situations. A mentor can provide personalized advice, share their own experiences, and offer guidance on how to take action effectively.
2?? Professional Development Programs: Many organizations and educational institutions offer workshops, courses, or programs focused on personal and professional development. These programs often provide practical strategies, tools, and resources to help you translate insights into action. On of my favorite places to start is The ONE Thing. Check it out to get your habit transformation in action.
3?? Accountability Partners or Groups: Connect with like-minded individuals who are also seeking to apply insights in their lives. Forming an accountability partnership or joining a group can provide a supportive environment where you can share your progress, set goals, and hold each other accountable.
4?? Coaches or Consultants: Needless to say, consider working with a coach or consultant who specializes in your area of interest. They can provide guidance, help you develop action plans, and offer ongoing support to ensure you stay on track.
5?? Online Communities and Forums: Engage with online communities, forums, or social media groups focused on your specific interests or goals. These platforms can provide a wealth of information, support, and opportunities for collaboration with others who are working towards similar objectives.
Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength and a proactive approach to personal growth. Don't hesitate to reach out and leverage the resources available to you in order to effectively put advice into action.
It's not enough to be a knowledge hoarder; you have to be a doer. Embrace a mindset of continuous learning, but let your actions scream louder than your words. By combining insightful thinking with intentional action, you'll unlock your true potential and create a ripple effect of positive change in the world around you.
Now, go out there and let your insights shine!
I am curious to know how your journey from insights to actions has worked out for you!
