If you have questions about implementing a new credentialing software, you’re in the right place. Here, you’ll learn answers to frequently asked questions so you can get started smoothly. And be sure to check out our step-by-step guide for implementation.?

What can I expect during onboarding??

Your vendor should guide you through a structured onboarding process so you know what to expect at every step. This process may include implementation syncs with set agenda items, timely training, and working closely with vendor teams involved in implementation.?

Your vendor should also match you with a dedicated project manager who brings expertise in the platform and experience with diverse client needs.?

How long does onboarding take??

Every vendor has their own timeline for onboarding. At Modio Health, our goal is to provide platform access within 30 days of the contract signing. This depends on how soon we receive your data and how quickly you respond to our team’s questions and requests.

After initial implementation, you move to the refinement phase, where we finalize your workflows, import any additional data, and conduct any extra training your team might need.?

What if we have an urgent deadline?

Be sure to flag any data-related deadlines to your vendor right away. For instance, let your vendor know if you will lose access to your previous credentialing system, or if you need to export a payor roster during implementation. Your vendor team needs to know about any strict timelines so that they can prioritize imports or file preliminary tickets to accommodate these needs.?

How can we avoid common mistakes in implementation?

You can overcome hurdles in the implementation process by following these guidelines.

Import complete, accurate data. Data integrity is important, especially when you think of the downstream impact. Importing accurate data from the start will ensure you can use it as a source of truth when generating reports or providing data to stakeholders.?

Embrace change. If your practice is transitioning from another credentialing system, you might be accustomed to specific workflows or fields. Embracing new workflows and solutions is key when adopting a new software. Your vendor team should guide you through the optimal workflow or propose a fresh solution tailored to your needs.?

Communicate and engage. Attending syncs and training sessions and staying in regular contact with your vendor team keep your implementation on track. You are the best advocate for your providers and your team.?

Ask for support. Look for a vendor that offers a variety of support. Your team might want to attend a focused training session or sit down with a credentialing or data expert to determine if a custom solution, like a bulk data update or a custom report, will better suit your needs.
