Hi,
This month is all about traveling by water (and I'm not referring to 5,000-passenger cruise ships). I'm talking about yachting around private islands, adventuring on an expedition to the Arctic, or sailing the Douro River with a glass of wine in hand.
These are once-in-a-lifetime ways to experience destinations from a completely different vantage point - from the water. The biggest perks are the ability to visit lesser-known locations only accessible by small ships (because the logistics are too difficult by land) and visiting several destinations but only unpacking once.
Let's dive in. Below you'll learn more about...

sail beyond boundaries
My travel partner, AmaWaterways, is expanding its portfolio of intimate river cruising vessels and immersive, all-inclusive itineraries, and I'm loving the new sailings for 2024. Curious to see where they will be sailing??
Colombia
In 2024, you can expect a new 60-passenger vessel on the Magdalena River, which will feature amenities like al fresco dining and balconied staterooms, allowing you to be fully immersed in the scenery.
The ship aptly named, AmaMagdalena, will sail from colorful Cartagena to bustling Barranquilla with stops at Colombia’s most vibrant destinations. Itineraries are 7-nights.
Portugal & Spain
AmaDouro is getting a sister ship, AmaSintra, to sail the Douro River! The new vessel will sail roundtrip from Porto or from Porto to Vega de Terron, Spain on 7-night itineraries.?

an expedition adventure
Have you ever glided over the surface of the Atlantic in a Zodiac, watched polar bears lope across the Arctic Poles, or kayaked remote rivers on a personal expedition journey? That’s just a typical day on a Seabourn Expeditions cruise. Together, we can unlock parts of the world few have traveled before.
How? Seabourn Expedition vessels are uniquely designed for remote locations. A smaller vessel, state-of-the-art technology, and enough room for double-sea kayaks and zodiacs ensure an incredible experience for adventurous sailings while also maintaining a yacht-like lifestyle onboard.?
Who is it a good fit for? For adventure-seekers who want to get off the beaten path, to get up close with wildlife, and experience incredible landscapes alongside other adventure enthusiasts.
Exotic destinations we love for this: the Amazon Delta, the Easter Islands, and next year, the Kimberly Region of Australia!
discover the unexplored
Yes, you read that correctly. This is an opportunity to explore the remote gems of Costa Rica and Panama on a once-in-a-lifetime itinerary. You, 17 guests, and your very own private yacht will depart from Marina Los Sue?os and sail along the Pacific Coast to special spots like Ca?o Island before spending three nights at the unforgettable Isla Secas Private Island.
Along the way, you’ll find plenty of adventure, like getting acquainted with the local marine life while scuba diving off the coast of Corcovado National Park or kayaking through the natural phenomena of bioluminescence. When you’re not exploring, be pampered by your own personal chefs and naturalist guides who will ensure your journey is nothing less than magical.??
I hope you have enjoyed this month's travel inspiration!
