The insider: Product Lead
Meet our Product Lead, Julius! He’s recently back from paternal leave but has been onboard since 2020, when he set out as employee no 5, as he left the corporate world to go all in on startup Invoier.
What does it mean to be Product Lead at Invoier?
The role itself means planning how we, as a company, in the best possible way can deliver value to the users of our services and on our marketplace. What functionality is needed, how should the backlog be prioritised, how to structure internal processes, etc. But above all, what I find interesting with this role is that one constantly moves across all of the organisation, creating new ideas with clever colleagues from tech, marketing, sales and operations - not to forget our customers, who often come up with the very best ideas!?
You’ve previously worked with digital product development, both in financial and industrial companies. What made you go for Invoier?
Because invoices are sexy! Haha, no.

For me it is about being able to be part of creating a new kind of service that will revolutionise an entire industry. The most worn out word within the startup world is probably “disruption”, but it really was what I was looking for when I found Invoier. We don’t copy what’s been the industry standard for over 20 years already. Instead we stir the pot and create fundamentally different services. Disrupting business owners' possibilities of receiving financing actually permeate our entire way of working, being the driving force behind it and part of the general DNA.?
Another thing that I’m passionate about is to once and for all retire this weird norm that business owners should have to wait 30 days to get paid for executed work. That is just crazy, really. When you do the numbers you quickly realise how enormous the economic benefit for society would be if companies were paid directly, rather than 30, 60 or 90 days later. Swedish companies, not to speak about the Swedish economy as a whole, would in fact have had significantly better possibilities for growth. I believe the time is ready for direct payment after executed work. This is what Invoier (backed up by the EIC) stands for - and I personally think it’s a strong driving force which makes the job at Invoier more than just a job.?
You’ve been on paternal leave recently. How was it?
I’ve had my hands full! While taking care of a child I had the brilliant idea to totally renovate my house - at the same time! So one could sum up my leave with two words: diapers and building dust. Then again, to be perfectly honest, I’ve felt a certain lack of intellectual stimulus that you would normally get from coworkers and work. Parental leave comes with a lot of fun aspects - but being intellectually interesting is not one of them :)
