Inside Tiny Miracles' newest factory

Inside Tiny Miracles' newest factory

Opened in 2022, Tiny Miracles' newest factory opened last year is a haven for the women of the community in Mumbai, but it required a lot of work to get there...

The Rituals x Tiny Miracles partnership started years ago when Rituals CEO and Founder Raymond Cloosterman set Tiny Miracles founder, Laurien Meuter, a challenge: a first order of 100,000 bags to produce in only 8 months.

Laurien was starting from scratch, so she went about renting a factory space, training the women to stitch the bag and use sewing machines, and setting up a system of rights and responsibilities that abide by strict quality control measures. Rituals’ Quality & Regulations team had several questions for Laurien, the main one being, “Is what Tiny Miracles is doing legal?”. So, Rituals hired an external auditor to help Tiny Miracles. This project required hard work and long hours, but it was worth it. Everyone at Rituals and Tiny Miracles was excited about the impact this would create in the community.

As the collaboration grew, lives were changed, children started and, more importantly, stayed in school, and the first Tiny Miracles kid went to university. Last year, Tiny Miracles opened their latest factory, a beautiful space co-designed with the women who work there daily, to fit their wants and needs.

The walls in the factory are decorated by paintings made by children of the community.

The factory is split up into different areas for each type of work. Here, the women stitch the bags on sewing machines.

Once stitched, the bags go through a thorough quality check by the women of Tiny Miracles.

And finally, the bags make it to the folding department.
