For this month's edition of The Inside Story, we sat down with Orlaith from the Administration team to get an insight into work-life at IPF.
1.???Tell us about your current role, what does the job entail?
I am currently the senior administrator in a team of five. I work closely with my team leader, line manager, and sales managers to make sure that the admin team is using the most efficient procedures when processing new business applications.
2.???How long have you worked in IPF?
I have worked in IPF for a little over 3 years now.
3.???What attracted you to working there?
From the interview stage, I felt very welcome in the office and I loved that the company supported a ‘door’s always open’ policy, they want to hear your ideas.
4.???Tell us about your average day?
An average day for me would start with a quick team huddle to check-in and divide all new business applications for processing. I would also spend time following up with financial advisors and life companies to try to get existing applications issued. I also have a lot of adhoc duties like responding to emails, dealing with client queries, post, reports, compliance, etc. it’s a busy job!
5.???What do you enjoy about your job?
The managers recognise hard work and pay attention to your skills and interests so they can be incorporated into your career path.

6.???What are the challenges?
The administration team has no control over the volumes of new applications received so sometimes it can get busy, it’s important that we’re prepared for this and show good teamwork when it happens.
7.???Describe the work culture in the company
The work culture in IPF is very encouraging and motivating. There’s always someone willing to give you advice and help you reach your goals.
8.???What advice would you give to somebody interested in working there?
I advise anyone interested in working for IPF to be willing to put in the hard work as it will lead to great opportunities, management is looking for people with drive and commitment in any role they hire for.
9.???Is there something unique or interesting about your company that you’d like to share with jobseekers (perks, benefits, training, social clubs, etc.) ?
IPF recently appointed a wellness officer which is great. They currently host zoom yoga once a week, it’s a great chance to chat with colleagues away from the office setting and have a bit of a laugh also.
