Isolation Cell

Our secure ambulances are equipped with industry-leading isolation cells designed with patient dignity and safety in mind. These cells feature reinforced Perspex screens that provide a clear view of the patient for our staff whilst ensuring a secure environment for both patients and staff members. The cell’s unique design also prevents unescorted outside access, which further enhances the security of the ambulance. Inside, the cell is padded to minimise the risk of injury, and it’s equipped with a comfortable bed for the patient to be transported in. In cases where a patient is subject to the Mental Health Act of 1983, the isolation cell may be used to transport them securely.

Restraints

Whilst our focus is always on de-escalation and creating a calm environment, we know that restraints may be necessary under certain circumstances. We, therefore, carry a variety of restraints, including soft cloth restraints that are specifically designed to minimise patient discomfort whilst still ensuring everybody’s safety. Our highly trained staff are skilled in the safe and appropriate use of these restraints so that the wellbeing and dignity of the patient aren’t compromised.

Wheelchairs and Wheelchair Access

We know that some patients may have mobility challenges. Our secure ambulances are equipped with wheelchair ramps and securing mechanisms to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for wheelchair patients.

Stretchers

For patients who are unable to sit up or walk, our ambulances are equipped with specialised stretchers designed for secure transport. These stretchers can be easily folded and stored when not in use, maximising the space within the ambulance. All our teams are skilled at manoeuvring these stretchers both outside and inside our secure ambulances.

Monitoring Equipment

These include heart rate monitors, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, and oxygen saturation monitors. First-Aid Kits

These kits typically contain assorted adhesive bandages, assorted gauze pads, roller bandages, antiseptic wipes, medical tape, tweezers, scissors, surgical gloves, and other essentials. Our skilled teams are all trained in first aid and can provide immediate help if a patient needs it.

In addition to the essential equipment mentioned above, Secure24 ambulances may also carry:

• Defibrillators: These are potentially life-saving devices that deliver an electric charge to the heart if the heart stops due to a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). A defibrillator may restore a normal heartbeat.?
• Blankets and Pillows: To keep patients warm and comfortable during transport.
• PPE and IPC Supplies: Personal Protective Equipment includes gloves, gowns, shoe covers, head covers, masks, respirators, eye protection, face shields, and goggles. Infection Prevention and Control supplies typically include alcohol-based hand rubs for hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfection supplies like surface wipes and detergents, and clinical waste bags and sharps containers for safe waste disposal.?
• Communication Devices: To maintain constant contact with dispatch and medical professionals.
• GPS Tracking: For real-time location monitoring and efficient dispatching.
