Ordr.io x CVC Community DD

Ordr.io x CVC Community DD

Welcome ??

A month ago, we launched an initiative via CVC to openly conduct Due Diligence on companies eyeing a Retail or Wholesale Venture Capital Raise (Tear-ups).

Our thesis was simple: By conducting open Due Diligence and inviting people to take part in the process, we believed more people would be drawn to learn about and participate in venture investing.

Our journey with Ordr.io was fueled by this belief. We began by running polls to see how people wanted to engage, what they would engage with, and how they looked at deals and layered that with the Due Diligence work, we were performing in the background.

In case you missed it, find out more about Community VC’s Tear-up strategy here.

Here’s how it went:

1.
2. Conducted DD with experts on
3. Engaged with the CVC community to understand broader interest touch points

Community Insights ??

As we ran our first Tear-up and engaged with individuals who had a keen interest in Venture (or Ordr.io specifically) we learned some really great insights:

  1. Professional Investors and Angel Investors adhere to their distinct methodologies, often remaining indifferent to mainstream opinions.
  2. Mass Affluent's Interest: Individuals with significant disposable income and broad interests are genuinely intrigued by venture capital, viewing it as an exciting and viable investment opportunity.
  3. Retail Investors' Knowledge Gap: The average person is often uninformed about the nuanced risks and distinct stages involved in venture investing.
  4. Open Collaboration: Most investors are willing to publicly share their due diligence and findings, driven by an interest in the venture ecosystem.
  5. Mystique of Venture Capital: The VC landscape is often perceived as a “black box,” with quality deals seemingly reserved for those with inside knowledge.
  6. Deal Flow Distinctiveness: Potential investors highly value the uniqueness and innovation of businesses within the deal flow.
  7. Efficiency in Deal Assessment: Investors value tools and resources that streamline the evaluation process, saving time and mental effort.
  8. Network Quality: The credibility and expertise of the community evaluating deals are crucial, underscored by our consultations with experts (e.g. Ex-head of Strategic Finance from Uber Eats) during the Ordr.io Tear-up.

We even had people adding their own questions to the stack rank…!

...And some people going all out and doing deep-dive research into exact stadium metrics to understand the scale potential of Ordr.io ?

We’re thrilled by the overwhelming response and enthusiasm for the Tear-up process - we’ll be releasing companies throughout our pipeline EVERY week, reviewing their decks, polling them, and then going deeper on those chosen by the community.

Although we're currently spotlighting one company monthly, we hope to scale to many more in the future!

SO…

Without further adieu…

We present the very first Tearup on Ordr.io : Pitchdeck + Stackrank + Interview recordings
Ordr.io

For those who haven’t been following my LinkedIn threads, a 'Stackrank' is a structured way to bring consistency to your venture investing approach. It enables us to compare multiple companies simultaneously, evaluating how they (excuse the pun) 'stack up' against each other.

We run the stack rank in four parts, prioritising key information and delving deeper as our interest and confidence in a deal grow. Below, you’ll find both video and written content on Ordr.io ’s Stackrank to enhance and speed up your DD process??

First, we examine the key deal information, with detailed descriptions available in Column A of the Stackrank.
Next, we go through the go-no-go information (i.e. the info that matters the most in terms of continuing the DD process).
Video link (24min highlight reel)
Then we consult experts and community members with specific insights to gather opinions on the company and industry.
Video link (31min complete interview)
And finally, we interview the founder to complete the information inputs and get the answers to the community questions.
Video link (36min complete interview)

In summary, the insights gathered suggest Ordr.io is a promising (publicly available) Seed-stage Venture deal.

The stackrank is majority GREEN with only one RED in the competition row.

The simple maths behind the stadium numbers and potential revenue suggest there is a $250m+ revenue business in Ordr.io

At the Community VC, we believe investing should be accessible to everyone, not just those in the know. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to invest and contribute to vetted ventures that move the world forward.

Please do not take this as Financial advice or a guide of what any outcome will be. This isn't financial advice, nothing in this email or newsletter is, I am not guaranteeing or recommending an investment or outcome in anything. I am simply listing opportunities I believe should be accessible to everyone and how the community has looked at this deal.

This is such a fascinating process - with community VC and open due diligence. This is the spirit of decentralisation and will lift the lid on who gets funding and why. Following with great interest!!
