INSIDE NIMJI WAREHOUSE: NOTHING BUT HAPPINESS AND EMPOWERMENT!

In today’s highly competitive environment, organizations are doing their bit to facilitate diversity in their workforce. They are also trying to create an environment that fosters equality and inclusivity. At Future Group, we have always embraced diversity and promoted inclusiveness. Be it the disabled community at our stores or the talented women professionals who run our warehouses, we at Future Group we have always been at the forefront of driving a change in the society.

Future Supply Chain Solutions Limited (FSC), the supply chain arm of Future Group established ‘Shakti DC’ at Nimji, Nagpur. This is a food DC which is run by women. Let us find out how they are donning multiple hats and embracing various responsibilities.

Bringing Opportunities to Nimji

Nimji is located 25 kms from Nagpur and situated on NH6, which connects to Aurangabad via Amravati. Nimji is being developed as a Logistics Hub. Earlier, there were no major work opportunities for females in Nimji. But with the arrival of our Shakti DC, things changed for good.

Our Fiercely Determined Women Staff

Chanda Pangul has been working for the last 11 months in our FSC Food DC Nimji as a Supervisor- Inward (BB Food LF). She did her B. Tech in Industrial Engineering before joining FSC and ever since, there is no turning back. Being a team leader, she looks after different activities such as manpower management, GRN, MIRO, vendor follow ups, sorting out various issues and much more.

“I have gained technical knowledge about the warehousing industry and operational processes but I find there has been a vast change in my personality as a whole. I’ve become more punctual, gained more confidence, learnt leadership in terms of handling manpower down the line and the skill to tackle challenges (Workload) with ease.” says Chanda.

Nothing is Off Limit for these Women

No matter how tough the job is, the women at the Shakti DC have the determination to hit the ground running on their own.

Trupti Raut has been working as a Supervisor outward wherein she takes care of various activities such as loading, unloading, documentation, E-Way Bill extension, store communication, communication with the drivers, arranging express vehicles etc. She holds a diploma in Electronics Engineering and has done B.E. in Electronics from RGCER Nagpur. Trupti belongs to a place named Khaparkheda (famous for its coal mines and power plant) which is located approximately 45 kms from our food DC.

After working with FSC, Trupti has experienced a great change in her life. Her confidence level, communication skills, management skills, level of maturity have come a long way since she started.

“Work culture is what I love the most. Also, I love to learn something new every day and here I am going through a huge learning experience. The timely support from the in-charges and seniors inspires me to work”, says Trupti.

At Nimji warehouse, women are unstoppable. They are performing various roles right from inward, outward, picking and packing, inventory, security and what not.

Mamta Tete, the mother of a one year kid who handles MIS activity says “The work culture is very co-operative and my role comes with a vast learning experience.” She further adds, “Tackling new challenges and finding out solutions motivates me to work.”
