A Fun & Efficient AI-Powered Life Hack!

I have to create a lot of content, emails, newsletters, documents…a lot of writing. Back in the day someone like me might have a secretary who would take dictation, edit it, type it, format it and send it…but those days are gone. No they aren’t, AI takes dictation, organizes it, and formats it for you!

I have a lot of what the oil industry calls NPT, non-productive time. I might be driving, walking the dog, drinking coffee, gardening, on the throne (don’t judge, it's called multitasking). I use these times to dictate my thoughts, in rambling stream-of-consciousness form into a Google Doc on my phone. I just hit the microphone button and start talking. If I showed you the raw dictated content, you would probably think they were the ramblings of a madman because they bounce all over the place.

Here is where the magic happens. Then I go to my laptop, open that narrated Google Doc, which looks like one multi-page sentence, and paste it into ChatGPT, Gemini, Co-Pilot, whatever AI Chatbot you prefer. I tell it to organize the thoughts and what format I want it in (outline, email, blog post, task list, presentation, whatever). It takes my random thoughts and turns them into a well-structured document. My 15 minutes of talking ends up looking like a literary work of art that took hours to perfect.

Step-by-step Description:

1. Open a document of some sort, I use Google Docs
2. Open the edit (keyboard) and click on the microphone
3. Start narrating (Tip: If you pause for too long, it may stop recording, so just hit the microphone again and start talking. Also, don’t worry about removing the ah’s and um’s, it does that for you.)
4. Paste these ramblings into chat with a prompt that tells the AI to make sense of it all (see below for sample).

Sample Prompt: The following text is a stream-of-consciousness transcription of my speaking about a topic. I want you to organize it into a [describe the output, here is an example] blog post that is concise and engaging. It should have a compelling title that will entice people to open it and read it. Once you complete this, provide the SEO descriptions as well and tags that describe the topics covered in the blog post. It should also be SEO optimized. Then create a collection of social media posts for each of the following: X, Facebook, and LinkedIn that include enticing titles, brief description and a placeholder for the URL linking to the blog post. [Paste your spoken ramblings here…]

Zen-Like Landscaping App: Zentive

This month’s featured app is Zentive.io. Two friends since childhood had a vision of building an app for landscaping companies to manage their business, crews and clients. By sheer luck, they found us. They knew the business needs, we knew the app building business. We helped them flesh out their idea. We talked about super admin features for support, a customer portal for invoices, the owner and crew profiles and what each would need. They brought us a logo and we used those colors to design the app. We quickly built a wireframe so they could experience the app like real users, walking through each screen.?

Our Tech Stack

Back-end: Golang (fast and efficient)

Front-end: React-Native (supports web, and mobile phones)

Integrations: Invoicing/payment, financials, mapping/routing, marketing, tax rates, etc.

It has been a great collaboration between Liam, Jesse and the MPH Team. We’ve learned a lot about the landscaping business and they’ve learned a lot about the software business.
