Packaging Innovation Watch
I focus weekly on a particular LinkedIn post that gets the packaging network liking, sharing and commenting.
This initiative from 亨氏 is an example of the Recycle 2.0 trend and very much of the moment.
Kraft Heinz are about to introduce a new '100% recyclable' cap for its Heinz Tomato Ketchup squeeze bottles, which will allow for the recycling of 300 million plastic caps each year. The polypropylene cap will replace the flexible silicone valve in the previous design and is engineered to support efficient ketchup dispensing, with research indicating it helps consumers extract more product from near-empty bottles. The new cap is recognizable by a '100% recyclable' imprint.

A Refreshing Change
I was delighted to have made a contribution to this month's Packaging News Category Focus piece by Lynda Searby about packaging innovation in the soft drinks industry. ThePackHub's Innovation Zone has tracked more than 2000 beverage initiatives since we launched so there is plenty of innovation in this category that I discuss in the article. Take a look in your printed copy of the latest edition.
Until next time, happy innovating.

1 年One of the biggest challenges I've seen in bottling operations of any kind is the waste associated with caps. I was in a beverage bottling facility a few weeks ago and there were caps all over the floor, overflowing in bins and bags. I think this is a great move by The Kraft Heinz Company! I also think we need to look at the equipment and it's operation to minimize rework and waste in the process. Great article Paul Jenkins! Just subscribed.
