Professional Background?
Sherry’s career began as a case manager for adult incarcerated individuals, and then as a program director in corrections, before moving on to provide vocational coaching and support for neurodivergent adults in the workforce. She gained insight into the unique needs of higher ed while working as a behavioral education consultant for a crisis management training company.???
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Family Studies before going on to earn a Master of Social Work in Administration, Planning, and Policy from Virginia Commonwealth University, while working full-time as a program director for Bridge, a re-entry program for incarcerated individuals, that she developed, secured funding for, and led for the Chesterfield (VA) County Sheriff’s Office.??

Researched and developed an evidence-based innovative program for substance-dependent incarcerated program participants, resulting in national recognition by the National Association of Counties and being named Employee of the Year.??
Provided pre- and post-release detailed program services to incarcerated adults. Delivered case management services for re-entry planning, referred adult clients to appropriate community resources.?
