Inside Embedded World Exhibition&Conference: A Recap of the Latest Tech Innovations in the Embedded Systems World

This year’s Embedded World Exhibition&Conference was packed with cutting-edge topics held by top-class speakers, stimulating discussions about new ideas and solutions enabling the community to cope with a variety of challenges that lie ahead. Our embedded expertise Davor Rapi?, Stefan Koncar, Ivan Popovic, Miroslav Bozic, and Stevica ?uki? enjoyed the pulsating atmosphere and did a fantastic job of showcasing our deep knowledge of embedded technology over the span of three eventful days. In this interview, they share a summary of their strongest impressions, learning opportunities, and highlights.??

What were your impressions of the conference? What did you like most of all???

“The Embedded World 2023 conference in Nuremberg was a fascinating event that showcased the latest technology innovations in the embedded systems industry. I was impressed by how well-organized, informative, and engaging the conference was. As someone with a background in the automotive industry, the conference was particularly valuable for me, as it provided an excellent platform for automotive professionals, experts, and enthusiasts to connect and discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field. Various chip and sensor manufacturers, tools, and software suppliers showcased their latest technologies and innovations in the areas of electric and autonomous vehicles, driver assistance systems, computer vision, and more. It was an exceptional experience, and I look forward to following the developments and innovations that emerge from the conference in the future.”Stevica Djukic, Technology Lead at HTEC Group?

You and the rest of the team were there to showcase your knowledge of embedded technology over the span of three eventful days. What were the most frequent questions you received from the visitors???

“There are not so many companies that can support their customers when it comes to e2e solution development. Since we presented our products that go above and beyond just embedded, we were asked about other services we can provide, which include not only engineering but also product and tech excellence consultancy.”Miroslav Bozic, Senior Engineering & Delivery Manager at HTEC Group?

Based on what you saw at the conference, what are the latest trends in the embedded world???

“There is an obvious expansion of Edge-AI devices and their application in many different industries, such as Automotive, IoT, Healthcare, etc. Using AI on embedded devices will bring many benefits for the community and will be actively used for the greater good such as preventing vehicle accidents, predicting diseases, patient monitoring and similar. As a matter of fact, it’s already used for mentioned purposes, but a broader audience will be enjoying all these benefits soon. Also, Edge AI removes the privacy concern associated with sending data on servers, as well as the issue related to transferring a huge amount of data to the cloud. On the other hand, every business sector is trying to boost automation and efficiency, which can be achieved by using Edge-AI devices.”Stefan Koncar, Engineering & Delivery Lead at HTEC Group?

What keynote speakers and topics caught your attention???

“Two main topics that caught my attention are:?
The first deployment of Rust compiler for Aurix safety platforms. Rust as a programming language is becoming more and more important in embedded software development.?
SOAFEE (Scalable Open Architecture for Embedded Edge) platform is an industry-led collaboration defined by automakers, semiconductor suppliers, open source and independent software vendors, and cloud technology leaders. The initiative intends to deliver a cloud-native architecture enhanced for mixed-criticality automotive applications with corresponding open-source reference implementations to enable commercial and non-commercial offerings.”???— Davor Rapic, Engineering & Delivery Lead at HTEC Group
