Why start my?own personal?monthly newsletter on International Women's Day?

Why not?

What has that got to do with this Newsletter? Well, everything!

I am a female co-founder, a mother of one and have always fought for equality and this years International Women's Day theme is?#EmbraceEquity ?definitely needs celebrating.

Not just for one day though, there has been many positive steps over the years that recognise as women, we are capable, intelligent,?ambitious, courageous, confident beings.

It is essential, that we are all making a positive contribution for our future generations, to ensure that whatever our gender, we offer inclusive opportunities for all.

This is all incredibly important to me, as it's the reason I co-founded my business Sheer Edge seven years ago, there was no flexible working with a 9 month baby and I was faced with the option of return to work full time and put my baby in nursery or go a completely different risky path and start a business.

I opted for the latter, I knew I had a lot to offer the hospitality and events industry?with 20 years of experience. Working?at venues, iconic venues such as Silverstone Circuits, International Convention Centre Birmingham and two fantastic midland clubs Birmingham City FC and West Bromwich Albion FC.

I forged fantastic client relationships which are still strong today. So why shouldn't I create something that works for me as a women, our clients and also my son, everyone wins!

I'm not suggesting that everyone should go out there and run their own business, but that is the choice me and my husband made and the risk we took and I'm so glad we did!

It felt right to share the reason why I co-founded Sheer Edge in the first issue of this newlsetter but what can you expect from future issues?

Well the clue is in the name!

I'm going to bring you the inside scoop on everything events and hospitality related, whether it is tips and guides that I know will be beneficial, god knows I've lived in this industry for over 20 years and have learned many lessons, I still do, but that knowledge should be going somewhere and benefitting others.

You could be starting out in the industry, or working in it right now and looking for some new ways of working, whatever your current working situation, there will be something for everyone.

I will also be chatting with industry professionals about their roles and how they make decisions about the events they run.

I will be chatting with the fantastic venues we work with and share any new launches so you have your finger well and truly on the pulse.

I'm sure we will be chatting with some fantastic organisations about their events and how they pull off exceptional events.

Finally, as we secure only official corporate hospitality in the UK and Internationally I will be giving you regular updates on new release events and exclusive info!
