Dear Friends,
Maybe its good idea to watch the video first and then come back and read this article, which would possibly make more sense to you....
I will leave it up to you!
So I have recently applied for a Creative Grant for $50k called super Patron as well as other doors opening up that would be life changing!
Should I be selected and successful, I would like to continue to reflect on my past experiences and be sharing it with my wife, aiming to encourage and give hope to others. My wife and I have gone through the toughest of times, suffering from depression, anxiety, physical health issues and on top of it homelessness, sometimes not knowing how to provide food and transportation to school for our 2 of 4 children, you may know this already!
Together we overcame these challenges while never losing sight - our present situation not to determine our future. We are not quite back at the top yet, but we are pushing forward and I want people to know that they should never give up on their dreams.
In 2015 an investor left us in a dire financial situation after not committing to his contractual agreement and from that time on we have been struggling. However, during this time of despair, the vision of making a Documentary on traveling from London across the African continent to Cape Town as a final destination was born and even if it didn’t look like it could ever happen, I was sponsored for a video editing training in London which resulted in the launch of my YouTube Channel ThorCreative, where I channelled the good, bad and the ugly.
With the support of the Super Patron, it would be the next step towards turning this Adventure into reality and I would want to document it from start to finish: planning, training, sponsor- and partner acquisition and all other things necessary before setting off on this epic adventure where you will be able to see the social economic impact in people’s lives living in rural areas showing how they are effected in education and career prospects, healthcare, general wellbeing, hygiene and access to clean water and electricity, while of course exploring the beautiful surroundings.
Sometimes we, living in a developed country, take these “simple things” for granted but having been in situations where £1 can make all the difference in the world, while this dream that was born almost 5 years ago is getting ever closer to becoming a reality.
Finally, I would like to make the commitment that once reaching Cape Town, through an auction and any additional fundraising I would want to support and give towards improving the lives of those disadvantaged.
You will know by now that I am very open but really I cannot believe I am writing this to you as doors are opening that are allowing me to pursue the dreams and visions I have carried for so long, always being discouraged by friends and family along the way.
Many thanks for your continued support
All the best
Thor

5 年This sounds great, you should get in touch with MOBIUS Motors, to see if they will lend you a vehicle for your journey, it was born from the issue you are raising here, lack of infrastructure. Good luck!
