Inquisitiveness is the most useful talent by Marc LeVine

Persistent questioning and healthy inquisitiveness are the first requisite for acquiring learning of any kind. - Mahatma Gandhi

We are born being inquisitive. Babies are naturally curious and want to explore and learn about their environment almost as soon as they can crawl. ?As children grow, they tend to ask a lot of questions about just about everything. ?And they search for answers to satisfy their natural curiosity and develop their understanding of the world around them.?It is the beginning of their maturation process.

It doesn’t end with childhood.?Being an inquisitive professional is incredibly important as it may help us understand a variety of complex and unfamiliar situations we may encounter on the job. ?Inquisitiveness is characterized by curiosity and probing for answers through asking relevant questions. ?We rely on our curiosity to help us develop skills such as critical thinking and problem solving. ?Lacking inquisitiveness can make it difficult to generate new ideas and solutions.

Some people may stop being inquisitive due to a lack of motivation, fear of failure, or a feeling of being overwhelmed. Additionally, some people may simply become content with the knowledge they have acquired and may not feel the need to continue seeking out new information. Additionally, external factors such as job demands, or family responsibilities can consume time and energy that could have otherwise been devoted to exploring new interests and ideas.

How can we get back on track and regain some of our childhood inquisitiveness??Here are some useful tips.

1. Follow your curiosity. Whenever you come across something interesting, take time to explore and learn more about it.

2. Take a break from technology - your cellphones and laptops. Spend more time in nature and observe the beauty of the world around you. Stop and smell the roses!

3. Read books and articles about new topics.

4. Ask questions. There are no such things as "dumb questions." Asking questions can open a whole new world of exploration.

5. Learn something new. Attend a workshop or class on a subject that interests you.

7. Get creative. Try something you’ve never done before or explore an existing hobby in a new way.

8. Talk to people and learn from their experiences.

9. Take risks and experience something new.

10. Challenge yourself and push yourself to think differently.

Most of us pride ourselves on staying young despite our graying hairs and earlier bedtimes. The best way to stay young is to learn new things.?The best way to learn new things is to discover them by being observant, asking questions and being inquisitive.
