Innovators are everywhere! ??
Yesterday, I was at the dentist for a routine checkup ?? and chatted with a new dental hygienist. She asked me what I did and I told her, "I teach innovation & creativity to organizations." ??
Her eyes lit up and I didn't expect what would happen next. For the next 15 minutes, instead of talking about my teeth and dental cleaning, we talked about innovation and entrepreneurship. ???? She told me how she was also an entrepreneur on the side and was currently in the process of securing a loan with a bank.
I was happy to inform her of the amazing resources we have in Canada ???? that supports entrepreneurs and innovators. In fact, I told her about one amazing incubator I've worked with, YSpace. ??
The more we talked, the more I could smell the innovative DNA within her... ????she told me how she had TONS of ideas and is always onto the next thing... she told me, she loves learning. I could tell she was highly curious. She asked me lots of questions of how I teach innovation and which industries I worked with.
I told her, all industries, because I TEACH people how they can think differently and how to innovate. Innovation is applicable everywhere. She was so interested to learn more. ????And that's when it hit me! I could gift her my LinkedIn for Learning course: Building Your Innovation Skills! ?? It's such an amazing thing that I have the ability to gift this course to people... so I told her to connect with me so I could give her access to the course for free!?
??It was such a wonderfully surprising conversation! ?? She told me she was grateful that we intersected, but I equally felt the same way. I love meeting innovators "out in the wild" and having the ability to hear their stories and their dreams for the future. I'm happy to be able to help others reach their innovative potential. It's the most meaningful part of my job and it's why I do what I do. ??
You never know the stories of the people you meet and I'm glad I had the opportunity to learn hers.

8 个月I am a retired mosquito control pilot from Florida l patented an insecticide spray system that over a period of 20 years saved Palm Beach County 30 million dollars of insecticide usage and reduced the flying time required to do the job by 3,000 flying hours employing a high pressure insecticide aerosol generator that only cost 2,000 dollars to build. I have an idea for building a concept home that is going to be a different concept by drmatically reducing the labor required to construct this home in addition to dramatically reducing the cost by an estimated 80 per cent. However at 81 years old this concept will go to the grave with me.
