Innovative Technical Solutions for Milo? Winery: Elevating Hospitality with Bioclimatic Pergolas

At Soltec, we pride ourselves on delivering cutting-edge solutions that seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. Our recent project at the Milo? Winery on the Croatian peninsula of Pelje?ac is a testament to this philosophy. The goal was to enhance the winery's upper terrace, turning it into a functional and comfortable space for guests while maintaining the aesthetic and architectural integrity of the historic winery.

The Challenge

The Milo? family, known for their long-standing tradition of organic wine production, needed a solution that would meet the demands of modern hospitality. The key requirements included:

  • Preventing overheating on the terrace
  • Providing sufficient indirect light without glare
  • Ensuring proper ventilation
  • Creating a pleasant environment in all weather conditions
  • Integrating the solution into the existing steel structure without compromising the winery's overall aesthetic

Our Technical Solution

To address these needs, we designed and installed a bespoke bioclimatic pergola. This innovative structure offers several key benefits:

  • Thermal Control: The pergola prevents overheating by allowing adjustable shading, ensuring the terrace remains cool even during peak sun exposure.
  • Light Management: It provides ample indirect light, minimizing glare and creating a comfortable ambiance for guests.
  • Ventilation: The design ensures optimal airflow, enhancing comfort during warm days.
  • Weather Protection: The pergola offers robust protection against wind and rain, making the terrace usable in various weather conditions.

Engineering Excellence

One of the unique challenges was integrating the pergola with the existing steel structure of the terrace. Our engineering team developed a solution involving special stainless steel plates that allowed for precise alignment and secure attachment. This design ensures the pergola can withstand wind speeds of up to 150 km/h, providing stability and durability.

Aesthetically Pleasing

The pergola's minimalist beige color (RAL 1013 FS) was chosen to harmonize with the existing architecture, ensuring it complements the winery's overall look while adding a modern touch.

Conclusion

The successful implementation of this bioclimatic pergola at Milo? Winery showcases Soltec's ability to deliver innovative, custom solutions that meet complex requirements. By enhancing the functionality and comfort of the winery's terrace, we have helped the Milo? family offer their guests a superior experience, blending the rich tradition of their organic wine production with modern hospitality standards.
