An innovative Swedish twist at BALPPA's summer conference 2018

Wednesday 13th June 2018

Day 1

We arrived in Stockholm, fresh of face

Excited to be here, such a lovely place

The BALPPA welcome was second to none

We’d soon said hi to everyone

After checking in, we were on our way

To Gr?na Lund, to learn and play

The house of fun was our first stop

The crazy stairs made E’s heart drop

After stage tours, roller coasters and so much more

We laughed so much, we were on the floor

After the fun, it was time to eat

We headed to the water, we took our seat

From prawns so big they filled a plate

To crab and beef that tasted great

We had six courses, I kid you not

With schnapps and beer, we had the lot!

Half way through we went on a ride

One of the few we hadn’t tried

We rose up to the skies and span around

So very high above the ground

A fantastic day was had by all

We had a laugh, we had a ball

We went to bed to get our rest

Excited about what would come next!

Thursday 14th June 2018

Day 2

Day two arrived and up we got,

Some had a cold breakfast, some had hot

On the bus to the next venue

Exploria had loads to do

From laser tag to bowling and pool

If you didn’t like this you’d be a fool

Next we had tapas and a beer

Everyone was full of cheer

Later on we went into town

We bought souvenirs and spent our crowns

Then the taxi driver did the dirty

Charged us sixty when it should have been thirty!

Back to the hotel for a well-earned rest

Apply the makeup, put on the dress

Then back to Gr?na Lund for the Mammia Mia show

We danced all night, we loved it so

Some went on to the best club in town

But us sensible ones went to bed and got our heads down

Another fantastic day was done

So now to get ready for the final one!

Friday 15th June

Day 3

We started the last day with the gym and a run

Some exercise before the fun

The Vasa Museum was first on our list

The amazing ship was not to be missed

The ABBA museum was a sight to behold

Where the legendary band’s story was told

We sang, we danced, we admired the clothes

How we ever left there, no one knows

Lunch was lovely, and we said goodbye

To some of our group who had to fly

Then back to the hotel for some work and a chat

And before we knew it, that was that

Conference was over, it was time to go

Stockholm, Sweden, we loved you so

Thank you BALPPA for a fab few days

For you guys we have nothing but praise
