As the late architect Sir Richard Rogers so succinctly said, in an interview with Vicas Shah MBE in 2014, “ The first purpose of architecture is to create habitat and to fulfil the needs of society or individuals" . So, for us to understand what really drives innovation in architecture and building systems design, we first need to understand human needs.
