Innovation & Transition
Welcome to my monthly activity roundup of the European private equity, venture capital and infrastructure industry. In this Point de Vue, I’ll look back at last month’s highlights which are closely connected to the transition to a new European mandate and its priorities - with innovation and a more significant role for private capital being key.
Amidst calls for increased investment to drive innovation and fuel the green and digital transitions, European venture capital is stepping up to the challenge.?We acknowledge its crucial role and are amplifying these realities through our 6-week online VC campaign – supported by research, data-driven reports and articles, a sentiment survey, success stories and leader interviews.
In our latest members-only report, Venture Capital: Fuelling European Innovation we emphasise how innovation is Europe's lifeblood and more critical than ever for a thriving, sustainable future. Venture capital is hardwired for this, fuelling startups that improve lives, tackle the challenges of the energy and digital transitions, and sharpen Europe's global edge.
Speaking of transitions, our first Venture Capital Forum was held for the first time in Amsterdam, after enjoying Paris for several years.
Yet another opportunity to network and discuss the role of our industry will take place at our Public affairs cocktail on 3 October where we’ll also be joined by Yannis Tsakiris, Vice-President, European Investment Bank as keynote speaker.
