Innovation: A State of Mind [2 min]

Innovation: A State of Mind [2 min]

The secret to being an "innovative" person is to spice up your life with the right amount of "craziness" and then do something with the ideas you get, instead of just leaving them in your head.

Today, I hope to inspire your mind with my silly (but functional) "magic formula" to boost innovation. (Hey, I'm actually a magician + you read this on the internet, so this might probably be a real "magic formula")

First, I'll need you to read, accept and believe this crazy statement:

"Innovation is a state of mind"

We should treat innovation as a temporary, fragile and unstable state of mind. Once we reach it, we should be aware of it and exploit every second by doing something useful with it.

Did you ever catch yourself day dreaming? Maybe you were taking a shower, walking your dog or just waiting for the train, suddenly, you realize it all just fades away. A creative state of mind can be activated unconsciously, but it vanishes as soon as you allow other problems to fill your mind.

What if we could find a way to focus all the "day dreaming" processing-power and all that creativity and focus it on a single task? That is what the formula is about.

Here is the "magic formula" to reach an innovative mindset and use it as long as you possibly can:

As long as your predisposition (motivation & mindset), atmosphere, available knowledge and the actions (tools and methods) outweighs the right side of the formula, then innovation is likely to happen.

It won't be possible to reach the "innovative state" everyday; even if the conditions above are met, thinking innovatively consumes a lot of energy, energy that we may lack from time to time. Make sure to get enough rest and also check this article regularly for updates.

Here is a breakdown of all the articles that will continue to describe how to reach the innovative state of mind:
