INTRODUCING THE FIRST VIDEO CONVERTERS DESIGNED FOR THE ROAD.?

Video converters are used on professional events, corporate presentations, live shows and touring, and they often play a critical role.

Yet, they can often the weakest link in the signal chain and cause the most disruption. Most offerings use low-quality connectors, weak enclosures, external consumer-grade power supplies, and will consist of an overall barebones electronic design, which all contribute to a generally unreliable piece of kit. ??

It is often true that you get what you pay for.

WE WANTED TO CHANGE THAT, SO WE DESIGNED THE XVISION CONVERTER RANGE.

MORE ABOUT OUR TPEP? TECHNOLOGY

When it comes to fine pixel pitch LED in rental & pro AV applications, the biggest hurdle is no doubt the fragility of these products. Indeed, it is common for sub-4 mm inventories to suffer significant downtime, and consequently, require a higher percentage of spare equipment to be purchased and maintained. We believe that this is the single biggest barrier to the adoption of fine pixel pitch LED in rental and pro AV installations, and therefore we created TPEP?

This was a 4 year R&D project with 1 year of field testing.?There is now in excess of 10,000 panels in the rental production market. And this growing.

Our exclusive TPEP? technology has been developed upon years of experience of designing, manufacturing, and servicing LED displays for use in the most demanding of environments. It combines unmatched durability with ease of service, all whilst delivering the highest-quality images at a competitive price point.

  • The titanium-encased module protects against direct edge impacts the most common source of LED damage.
  • Liquid shader replaces traditional solid shaders. (This eliminates screws, and brittle plastic, and provides an unencumbered, 170+ degrees viewing angle)
  • Easily serviceable with affordable tooling.
  • Polymer compound provides mechanical bonding between pixels, without covering LED lenses or altering their colour spectrum.
  • Factory batch-matching and calibration methods applied.

NEXT GENERATION TPEP? PANELS.

Our features, many of which are unique to? Theatrixx Technologies , namely explain why our products are more durable than?any of?our competitors, and why they will retain their original?production factory?quality longer than anyone else.?

Some laptops are good for one year and others for five. Many variables help or hinder a product's longevity and ROI and the same applies to LED (light-emitting diodes).

An LED will have an average life span of 100,000 hours, but only if its is cooled properly. The cooler the diode operates, the longer it will last. If it is not operated at the correct temperature, it will age prematurely which is commonly demonstrated by panels which are unable to reproduce peak white uniformity.

Theatrixx?uses premium and bespoke diodes and innovative cooling from an oversized heat dispenser to ensure your investment is sensible one and will be good for years to come.?5-YEAR WARRANTY AVAILABLE

UNIQUE FEATURE OF THEATRIXX TPEP? PANELS

PATENTED TPEP? TECHNOLOGY (TITANIUM POLYMER EDGE PROTECTION)

Proprietary TPEP technology results in a smooth, much stronger surface with a titanium?casing?offering vastly increased mechanical protection against collisions. This allows an increased service life thanks to the mechanical protection of each module. In addition, two different polymers are used to solidify the assembly and provide additional protection between each of the pixels.

Unlike GOB (Glue on Board) technology which completely encompasses the diode, TPEP?modules can be easily repaired and?quickly?refurbished when a diode or electronic component needs to be replaced. As the protective polymer of the TPEP technology coats only the base of the diode, we do not observe any yellowing effect of the lenses over time, which is a known and inevitable problem?of?GOB.

For small pixels pitch (sub 3mm), the diodes are secured with four soldering points. We need to use 1.5mm?x 1.5mm pixels to achieve a 2.6mm pixel pitch, so as you can imagine, that those fixing points are incredibly small. Traditional SMT technology provides a maximum tolerance of 0.5kg for side-on impacts?however with TPEP we?achieve?up to 9kg of?impact protection. Which is by far the most protection?currently?available?in the market.?

MASKLESS TECHNOLOGY (LIQUID SHADERS) FOR INCREASED VIEWING ANGLE.

Thanks to the specialised surfacing and TPEP? technology, traditional masks (shaders) are no longer required, thus significantly increasing the viewing angle across all axis.

Most masks (shaders) for small pixel pitch LED panels will expand with heat, and often within an hour or two of use,?which significantly reduces?the?viewing angles. It also requires much work?both?pre-site and or on-site to be corrected.??

TPEP? and the proprietary module design allow for the maximum perception of the light signal while allowing the diodes to diffuse in a field of view greater than 170 x 170 degrees.

This means, in practice, you can view the image at almost 180 degrees, on both axes. This will also help reduce the moiré effect when on camera. Ideal for XR and Virtual production. The result is a completely matte black surface with high contrast,?superb?colour depth and a consistent image.

PREMIUM DIODES

The choice of a diode (LED) can influence the pricing of the panels exponentially or reduce the useful life expectancy of the equipment. We only select the highest quality diodes from our manufacturing partner, and we work closely with Nationstar across our LED portfolio.?

By specifying our requirements and working exclusively with our diode supplier we can offer a more saturated colour space, with a much wider colour gamut and therefore a more faithful colour reproduction. It is challenging to manufacture diodes with saturated colours, and they come at a premium which is reflected in our panel pricing.?

TWO-STEP COLOUR CALIBRATION

Theatrixx?offers a darkroom panel calibration service in our facility in Montreal Canada. This ensures that each panel and each module shipped from our factory will be checked, and calibrated for uniformity, colour consistency and light intensity.

Once calibrated the data will be stored at two levels: colour temperature and uniformity will be stored on the panel itself, and secondly, on the internal memory of each of the modules - including the light intensity of each pixel.

The advantage of two-step calibration is it allows the swapping of modules without affecting the original panel set-up. Usually, calibration is done at the panel level only. This means that if a module needs to be replaced for service, the new module will be completely different from the others. Our calibration service and QC process ensure modules?and panel matching.?

As our technology allows for uniformity of the pixel light intensity. It is even possible to recalibrate a panel installed for several years to restore its original appearance, which is impossible with panel-only calibration.?

With the two-level?calibration?and?the use of?LED?with?similar wavelengths, we can offer uniformity between panels from one delivery to another - providing that the same electrical components remain available.

XPRESSCUE HARDWARE?MEDIA PLAYER.?

When it comes to media playback, most professional solutions available today are either laptop-based or managed by a media-server. This often comes with a slew of reliability issues or a steep and often expensive learning curve.

The? Theatrixx Technologies ?xPressCue?is a hardware device that addresses the playback needs of video, lighting and audio professionals, and has currently no equivalent on the market.
