Air Covers’ latest design is one we believe is set to become an off-the-shelf (OTS) standard. A six-figure investment in cutting-edge 4-axis CNC machining now also allows us to precision-cut fire-retardant closed-cell foam to fit complex 3D shapes.

This means pitot covers, intakes, NACA plugs, exhaust plugs, and even shadow-cut foam for tooling, gyro-stabilized cameras, and sensors can be engineered exactly as they should be. The new pitot plugs are engineered to have just the right amount of compression to ensure high winds will not dislodge the plug. The closed-cell construction means no sand, water or snow can sit close to the pitot -as is the case with the pitot bags used by so many OEMs.

Since 2006, we’ve designed 2,841 ‘new-to-market’ products for aircraft protection. Some have become industry-standard OTS solutions. Others, like the bespoke RAF Poseidon Boeing 737 doorway entrance flooring, serve a highly specialized but critical function—directing rainwater away via contoured drainage channels.
