AI Advancements:

Meta: Curbing The Spread of AI-Generated Misinformation

Generative AI tools offer huge opportunities, and we believe that it is both possible and necessary for these technologies to be developed in a transparent and accountable way. ~ Meta

Meta is planning to launch a dedicated fact-checking helpline on WhatsApp with the Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA) to combat AI-generated misinformation. The helpline will be available for the public to use in March 2024.

The program will implement a four-pillar approach:

• Detection
• Prevention
• Driving Awareness
• Reporting Deepfakes

Collaboration with MCA represents our continued effort to empower people with tools and resources to verify information on WhatsApp.

Open AI: SORA

Introduced Sora, a text-to-video model, which can generate videos up to a minute long while maintaining visual quality and adherence to the user’s prompt.

Sora boasts the ability to generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motion, and accurate details of the subject and background. The model understands not only what the user has asked for in the prompt, but also how those things exist in the physical world.

Limited Access will be granted to a selection of visual artists, designers, and filmmakers to gain feedback on how to advance the model to be most helpful for creative professionals.

Open AI: ChatGPT

We are rolling out to a small portion of ChatGPT free and Plus users this week to learn how useful it is. We will share plans for broader roll out soon. ~ Open AI

With OpenAI now testing memory with ChatGPT , You Can

• Instruct ChatGPT to remember something
• Ask it what it remembers
• Tell it to forget conversationally
• Turn it off entirely through the settings

Google: Gemini 1.5 Pro for developers

Gemini 1.5 Pro can understand, reason about and identify curious details in the 402-page transcripts from Apollo 11’s mission to the moon. ~ Google

This February, 谷歌 launched Gemini 1.5 Pro, a mid-sized multi-modal model that allows developers to easily integrate the Gemini API into their applications and is optimized for scaling across a wide range of tasks. It’s available in 38 languages across 180+ countries and territories.

The latest updated Gemini abilities include:

• Query an entire code repository
• Add a full-length video
