Innovation to end the year

As 2023 comes to a close, we have some exciting news to share with you.?

Our team received The Public Affairs Communication Excellence Award for Best Innovation at the Air Force level — for this newsletter!?

Since launching Linked Into AFRL back in March, we’ve showcased recent science and technology news, event previews, and deep dives into technology areas and career opportunities. We’ve also highlighted some of the amazing people and partners who make these achievements possible. This newsletter is truly a collective effort, and AFRL’s Public Affairs team works hard to tell the lab’s extraordinary story.?

And we certainly couldn’t do it without you, our loyal subscribers. We are thrilled to have recently reached the 70,000 subscriber mark. Thank you for reading!

We’re passionate about delivering the very best newsletter we can — and as we look ahead to 2024, we would like to hear from you. Which topics have interested you the most? What do you enjoy about this newsletter? Let us know in the comments.?

We have an exciting special edition planned for when we return in 2024, but until then, we wish you a happy holiday season.

Whether you're traveling over the holidays or enjoying some extra downtime at home — it’s a great time to catch up on AFRL’s Lab Life podcast.

Lab Life, hosted by Michele Miller and Kenneth McNulty, brings its audience behind the scenes with the Air Force and Space Force scientists, engineers and professionals developing technology for the future.

In the latest episode, hear from Dr. Craig Przybyla, who you may recognize from AFRL Inspire, as he shares more about his time living abroad with the Engineering Scientist Exchange Program and his career studying ceramics at AFRL's Materials and Manufacturing Directorate.

My favorite AF person is; Sec. Heather Wilson; "we can no longer rely on revisions to 50 year old technology and stay ahead of our enemies and competitors". She understood the devastation caused by computer software and how it has affected our academia and technical progress. I nominated her several times as a running mate for Trump.. I hope she is doing well. Iguana
