1966 Chevrolet Impala restored after engine fire in 1980's

Innovation Drives Change

In a 2014 blog post,Thomas Brandow of Protech, described a future upgrade to the exhaust pipes on the Chevy Impala he had recently restored but without a financially feasible method to execute, the project remained an afterthought until 2022, when Protech acquired an XM200C.

As Thomas learned design for additive and machine operation, his creativity was sparked again. With this technology Thomas was able to customize and print new exhaust-pipes, effectively turning what was once a fire-wrecked car, into an upgraded classic.

This is the goal of our machines. By reducing the barrier of entry to metal additive, we further motivate technology adoption and innovation, based on a larger variety of personal experiences.
