Innovating with a ‘higher’ purpose

Innovating with a ‘higher’ purpose

Sometimes, game-changing innovations just need some space to grow.

Thanks to continued advances in satellite, terrestrial and cloud-based technologies, and applications, companies like Mangata Networks are realizing their core mission: connecting more people, communities, and businesses — and helping them thrive — around the world.?

I recently enjoyed a thoroughly inspiring sit down with Mangata’s founder and CEO, Brian Holz , at Playground Global 's headquarters in Palo Alto (thank you again for hosting us, Playground!).

First of all, I learned a little bit of Swedish. Brian tells me that Mangata comes from the word m?ngata - a word of Swedish origins (pronounced as moo-an-ga-tah) which refers to the road-like reflection of the moon on a body of water. ?

In addition to the brief language lesson, Brian and I discuss how Mangata’s growing partnerships with governments, businesses and investors worldwide are helping them cost-effectively “connect the unconnected” -- the four billion people on earth who currently do not have internet access. He also shares how Mangata’s global network of sustainable technologies and platforms are helping incubate ground-breaking ideas for reliable connectivity and data-sharing — innovations that can ultimately be replicated by communities and enterprises everywhere.
