Upon the separation of the Computer Science department from the MCA department, Dr. Jerald took on the role of the first Coordinator with determination and vision. A testament to his efforts is the recognition of Loyola College's Computer Science department as the best student branch of the Computer Society of India (CSI) in Region 7 during its inception. In the academic year 2008-2009, Dr. Jerald initiated the student branch of the CSI at Loyola College. During the academic year 2018-19, as a core committee member of the Loyola Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (LIMCOS), Dr. Jerald organized several workshops on the latest trends in computer science.
