Since 2018, the year of the opening of the Bayer LifeHub Lyon, open innovation has always been in focus, with the Innov4Ag program. Through this program, the catalyst of open innovation in Agriculture, we are very active in the national (French) and local (Lyon) entrepreneurial ecosystem - as a patron of the entrepreneurship center of the Foundation for the University of Lyon, partner of the Lyon Start-Up and Hublo Festival support and acceleration programs, and partner of Big Booster, an international accelerator - to find dynamic players whose innovative projects are carriers of progress for the Agriculture. Our main objectives of the Innov4Ag program are to Identify new technologies and Accelerate our R&D pipeline.
LifeHub Lyon is has a dedicated incubation space to welcome the most promising Startups who innovative technology in our areas of interest. For example In 2020, no less than five avenues of collaborative innovation were inspired by the program in search of solutions allowing:-
The early identification of diseases and pests of crops in order to avoid yield loss, a more accurate and faster characterization of diseases and pests of plants / crops, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture, reduction the impact of agriculture on the environment, and finally, the evaluation of the safety of plant protection products for humans in a reliable, relevant and correct manner, without resorting to animal testing.
