Hunger

Once upon a time, when I was in graduation...I was traveling in sleeper class compartment ??. Usually I travel alone, that’s y my parents never allowed me to travel in sleeper class but that time, there was shortage of reservations in Ac 3rd compartments due to festival season. And Ac 2nd class was not in my budget ?? ?? ????? So I was going to my hometown from Jaipur.

On one station, when my train stopped for few minutes, a small boy of hardly 6-7yrs ???? of age, came in compartment & starts cleaning the floor surface. I was reading a Chetan Bhagat’s Novel ??, I looked at him surprisingly that what he was doing here. His looks, dressings, hairstyle narrated that he belongs to the slum. I closed my novel n asked him.. y u r doing this in spite of going school? Who send u here. He didn’t said anything but I could see his ?? sad face. After cleaning the floor with his jharu, he started roaming n begging like 2 rupaiya de do...when he came to me, I asked what u will do of 2 Rupaiya, he said in sign language that he will eat. I gazed him for a few seconds & then I opened my handbag n gave him a packet of Britannia cake which was food substitute for me during my journey. How hungry he was..he didn’t lost even a single minute, tore the packet & start eating so fast like someone is going to snatch it from him.

After few minutes, train got signal to start. He was ready to go down after getting signal. He turned back & gave me a smile & waves his hand like he was saying ?? Bye bye. The sparks of his eyes, the smile??of that kid is still In My eyes, I remember.

Moral & learning from that moment- how our small efforts can make others happy.
