Inner Controls

“Control the things that are in your control; you cannot control the things that are not in your control.”
Isn’t it obvious? But somehow this is my first thought of the day today and when I pondered upon it, I could put up 2 thought processes to it.
Thought Process 1:
This has a perspective of doing things better.
Many of us do not look inward, rather we keep ourselves busy by focusing on the external things that most times are not in our control. No matter how much effort you put into such external things the chances of changing them are trivial. Rather than exploring the opportunities for how I can do my part best, we expect that others should do most things. And this happens with most people. Whatever I do, I take input from somebody, and the outcome of my work is taken as input by somebody else, it’s a chain. And because of the common mindset, everyone expects others to do wonders. Hardly a few people think that no matter how I have received the input, let me give the best outcome so that the onward chain can do better. This way at least one can influence the onward outcomes in a better way though they cannot be directly controlled.

Thought Process 2:
This majorly has a perspective of time.
We cannot change the past and we cannot control the future.
We can only control the current moment.
Past Blunders:
So far, is anybody able to change his/her past?

Similarly, you cannot change your past. Then why bother about it?
Many of us find it difficult to come out of the past. If something not so good has happened in the past, rather than taking lessons from it and moving ahead, we keep blaming either a situation or someone else or oneself. This certainly does not help.
Past Glories:
On the other hand, many of us still live in the past victories and don’t find it easy to align with the current realities. No matter what best results you have achieved in the past, you have to still put in your best efforts to continue achieving the best results.
Future Dreaming:
We can only plan better things for the future and work towards achieving them. However, the anxiety doesn’t allow many of us to take control of the current situation. We keep dreaming instead of executing the plans. Or we assume that things will fall in place instead of putting checks and controls on the things that we are doing. This also does not help.
We must take control of the current plans, current resources, current situation, and the current moment. ?We must focus on the things that we can effectively control and make considerable impacts.

What are your thought processes and which of mine aligns with yours’?
