INL employee recognized as Distinguished Under 40 honoree

By Tiera Cate, INL Communications

Ashley Jo Winters-Glenn, an Idaho National Laboratory early-career professional, has consistently performed above and beyond expectations and has been recognized as an honoree of the annual Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Under 40 award for 2022.

This year, the Chamber of Commerce selected 12 young professionals for their commitment to accomplish great things in their education, career and community.

As someone who is passionate about helping others, Winters-Glenn works hard to help employees understand highly technical information. An INL employee of over six years, she started as an administrative assistant at the Advanced Test Reactor and now supports stakeholder communications for INL’s Information Management department.

“Ashley Jo is instrumental to the success of Information Management by ensuring our customers, stakeholders and leaders understand the critical work being done daily to ensure INL’s success,” said Justin Summers, the director of Performance Management.

After losing her brother to suicide in 2015, mental health, suicide awareness and prevention became her life’s mission. Winters-Glenn is a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity, having served on the Advanced Test Reactor Inclusion Council as a champion for Information Management and as a member of the Women in Technology group. She serves fellow employees on the CARE committee, a program designed to provide financial assistance to employees who suffer economic hardship due to accident, loss or disaster. She also serves as a United Way ambassador and has helped Information Management accomplish one of its largest increases in giving by sharing her personal experience of financial hardship.

Winters-Glenn earned her undergraduate degree in English at Idaho State University, where she completed a service project for Housing Works in New York City. Winters-Glenn can often be found with her two children in Jackson Hole or close to her favorite mountains, the Tetons.

“Ashley Jo is an amazing, dedicated team player supporting our Information Management communications team by demonstrating excellence in all that she does. She is an outstanding advocate for her community, always striving to help and support others,” said Natalie Kern, INL’s process and performance optimization lead. “Her recognition as one of Idaho Falls’ Distinguished Under 40 honorees is well-deserved.”?
