MUSINGS FROM MARCY
Here is a?story, from a few years ago, but I figure we could all benefit from a "feel good" story this week.?
This mom of three just bought her first house!
Shawntay told me she'd?received housing assistance for years and wanted nothing more than to be financially independent. She worked?as a CNA in a nursing home.
When I asked her if she was nervous working there with COVID, she told me, "I don't work for the nursing home. I work for God and those residents need me."
She spent the whole year prior working overtime and extra shifts to pay off debt and save enough to buy her house.
She was so excited that I asked if I could share what she told me, but I wouldn't use her name.
Her answer? "You tell everyone my name is Shawntay and I worked hard to get off Section 8. I'm proud of what I accomplished. It wasn't easy, but I persisted and now look at me."
Way to go, Shawntay!???

Are you fact checking when you read about information given about notaries on social media??
1. There are several notaries that are sharing how easy it is to be a notary and make a ton of money. No shade to them if that is how it works for them, but what they aren't telling you is how much work it takes to make six figures. The jobs don't roll in, in?this economy like?they used to. It takes marketing your business and a strong work ethic. If you want to make a lot, you are going to need to work a lot.?
2. In many of the social media forums for notaries especially, there is misinformation that is being shared. This misinformation could lead to committing illegal acts or open a notary up to a lawsuit. Be sure to fact check and receive information from a reliable source. Look for information from reliable sources like the NNA, NYNA, and PNS - we will diligently provide the best and most up-to-date information.?
3.?Be aware of what information you put out about your client's personal information or documents that are being signed. It is a big deal to breach someone's personal information on the internet. Also watch what you say about those that employ you. If you are?disparaging those that hire you, they may stop hiring you.?
