Injury Packet: Good idea or bad idea?

Injury Packet: Good idea or bad idea?

When it comes to workers compensation there is generally a preconceived notion that there is not much that can be done to reduce cost from an employers perspective. While you can not completely prevent employees from being injured on the job there are ways to reduce your chances of workplace claims.

One of those ways include providing an injury packet. Providing this to employees can go a long way as it shows you care about the employee and it helps to create an atmosphere of trust and cooperation. To gain employee's trust, the employer must first exhibit a certain degree of trust. The employer needs to make the injured worker feels as if they are still part of them. Injured employees often complain that they never hear from their employers after becoming disabled.

The injury packet also gives employees essential information and outlines expectations which can be helpful in reducing the tension which often exists between the employer and the injured worker.
