Initiative Unleashed: The Mark of a True Leader

Initiative Unleashed: The Mark of a True Leader

A MARK OF A true leader is the demonstration of initiative. We can't just wait for someone else to move; Because people who wait for others to move are just followers, not leaders. Initiative requires an element of risk, faith and foresight. When was the last time you started something meaningful? If you don't remember, or it's been a while since you've stepped out of your comfort zone, you may need a jump start.

Reminding that I'm taking inspiration from some of the commentaries by John Maxwell on his Leadership Bible, the 21 indispensable qualities of a leader.?

?

Considere getting the book "The Pursuit of Freedom" for yourself and your family members.?

Why do we ever stop initiating new things?

?

It seems easier to run away from a challenge than to go out and take a risk. When we start something new, we commit to a direction. We may feel insecure about what the future holds.

What if we change our mind? What if no one follows? What if we fail in front of our followers? We start from commitment and initiative for a variety of reasons.

Jonas didn't take the initiative... He did the opposite, he ran away. And sometimes we also run away, but let's understand a little about the reasons why we run away and what the real problem may be.

Reasons and Real Problem:

?

1. We fear that we will not be able to keep the commitment....

Real Problem: Low sense of security

2. We suspect we can find "greener grass" elsewhere...

Real Problem: Paralyzed will

3. We spend our time and energy only for personal gain...?

Real Problem:?Need to control

4. Our past makes trust difficult...?

Real Problem:?Emotional baggage

5. We feel lazy and unmotivated...?

Real Problem:?Apathy and neutrality

6. We fear the risk of being rejected...?

Real Problem:?Low self-esteem.

7. We fear the unknown...?

Real Problem:?Low confidence

8. We don't want to lose our freedom...?

Real Problem:?Philosophy of self-righteousness

9. We fear being different from others...?

Real Problem:?Politically correct

10. We don't really know who we are...?

Real Problem:?Lack of identity

Jonas had to learn to take initiative. It all started with learning to submit to God. Submitting to God is a lot deeper than it seems! It’s not just surrendering areas of our life, but fully trusting His good intentions for us. Simple, but very profound. Once we surrender, we can take risk!

?

Not only can we take risk, but once we accept God's call to initiate and commit:

?

1. We take responsibility for living a healthy personal life.

2. We have a shift in perspective.

3. We progress toward a new level of personal freedom.

4. We are pleased to see lives transformed.
