Measurement Audit Procedures For Vendors

?

The result of measurement audit is to determine acceptance based on ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 (MIL-STD-105E) Normal Single Sampling Plan, Level II, AQL 2.5 for major & minor defects.

?

·?????Major defect – A POM that jumps a size, i.e measures as the next size, bigger or smaller, or more is to be marked with a ? “Triangle”.

·?????Minor defect - A POM that is out of spec tolerance but does not exceed the next size, bigger or smaller is to be marked with a ○ “Circle”.

?

Pre-production meeting

Factory must check samples (pp samples, jump size sets) for all measurement points listed in Kohl’s measurement specifications and keep a record of the details prior to pre-production meeting as these will be review by a responsible Vendors ?QA to ensure any out of specs measurements are rectified before pilot run starts.

Pilot Run audit?

During pilot run, a factory must measure at least 2 pieces of garments per size for all available colors on all points listed in measurement specification and keep a proper record which should be analyzed for any recurring out of specs measurement trend. Any recurring out of tolerance measurement points are to be rectified prior to bulk production.

Vendors QA must review and monitor for rectification of the recurring issue/s and that factory is following through in bulk production.

?

Inline measurement audit

For non-wash items - at least one piece per size per color must be measured on all measurement points from the first output from bulk production.

For garment-washed items - measurement must only be taken after 1st Bath washing and pressing ie after a garment is finished. At least one piece per size per color must be measured on all measurement points.

Measurement results taken from inline measurement audits may be consolidated into final measurement audits at shipment.

Final measurement audit

The acceptance of a final shipment measurement audit is based on ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 (MIL-STD-105E) Normal Single Sampling Plan, Level II, AQL 2.5 for major & minor defects.

The following table provides details on sample size to be audited at final shipment audit:

ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 (MIL-STD-105E) Normal Single Sampling Plan, Level II,

* Note

1.????All colors & sizes must be covered within the sample size.

2.????If all colors and sizes cannot be covered by the 1st sample size, the auditor must select the next sample size. Please see example as follows :

?

Example 1

Shipment has 2 colors and 5 sizes. Auditor will pick sample size as follows:

Color 1 - 2 pieces x 5 sizes = 10 pieces

Color 2 - 2 pieces x 5 sizes = 10 pieces

Total sample size is 10pieces + 10 pieces = 20 pieces

?

Example 2

Shipment has 2 colors and 6 sizes. Auditor will pick a sample size as follows:

Color 1 - 2 pieces x 6 sizes = 12 pieces

Color 2 - 2 pieces x 6 sizes = 12 pieces

Total sample size is 12 pieces + 12 pieces = 24 pieces.

Therefore the auditor must pick a sample size of 32 pieces to be compliant to the standard.

?

Example 3

Shipment has 5 colors and 4 sizes. Auditor will pick a sample size as follows:

Color 1 - 2 pieces x 4 sizes = 8 pieces

Color 2 - 2 pieces x 4 sizes = 8 pieces

Color 3 - 2 pieces x 4 sizes = 8 pieces

Color 4 - 2 pieces x 4 sizes = 8 pieces

Color 5 - 2 pieces x 4 sizes = 8 pieces

Total sample size is 8 pieces x 5 = 40 pieces

Therefore the auditor must pick a sample size of 50 pieces to be compliant to the standard.
