If you unexpectedly lose your job, here are some initial steps to take:
1. Assess the Situation: Take a moment to process the news and understand the circumstances surrounding your job loss. Give yourself time to grieve especially if you have been working for that employer for a long time.
2. Review Finances: Evaluate your financial situation, including savings, expenses, and any severance or benefits provided by your former employer.
3. File for Unemployment: If eligible, file for unemployment benefits as soon as possible to provide some financial support while you search for a new job. Some states allow you to collect unemployment and your severance as well. If you’re not sure, apply for unemployment anyway.
4. Update Resume and LinkedIn Profile: Update your resume and LinkedIn profile with your most recent experience and skills. Reach out to me and I will help you with both.
5. Network: Reach out to your professional network, including former colleagues, mentors, and industry contacts, to let them know you are looking for new opportunities. I have the perfect strategy - message me and I will provide it to you for FREE.
6. Apply for Jobs: Start actively searching and applying for job openings that align with your skills and experience. But do you know the difference between Apply and Easy Apply on LinkedIn. Believe it or not but there is a huge difference.
7. Consider Temporary Work: If needed, consider temporary or freelance work to generate income while you search for a permanent position. You can also find self-employment by leveraging LinkedIn.
Need to know how?

Building Your Network...
This is why building your network is so darn important prior to when you actually need it.
But I don't have time to build my network!
Can you carve out 30 minutes a day?
How about 60 minutes a day?

If you can do 30 minutes you can slowly build that network.
If you are looking to gain influence on LinkedIn and can in fact devote 60 minutes a day you can in fact gain influence here on LinkedIn and I can show you how.
Speaking of building... please check out what LUYTEN? is doing in the 3D printing space.

LUYTEN to 3D Print Southern Hemisphere's First
Double-Storey Home in Collaboration with UNSW
Melbourne, Australia – LUYTEN, a trailblazer in 3D construction printing, is set to make history in Melbourne by constructing the Southern Hemisphere's first double-story 3D printed home. This ambitious project, undertaken in partnership with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), will showcase the innovative potential of 3D printing technology in the Australian housing market.
The collaboration with UNSW will bring together cutting-edge research and practical expertise to create a truly unique and sustainable home. The design will feature complex architectural elements, curved walls, and custom details made possible by LUYTEN's advanced 3D printing capabilities.
LUYTEN's 3D printing process eliminates the need for traditional formwork, reducing construction time, material waste, and overall costs. This sustainable approach aligns with the growing demand for environmentally responsible building practices.
"We are thrilled to partner with UNSW on this groundbreaking project," said a spokesperson for LUYTEN. "This collaboration allows us to push the boundaries of 3D printed architecture and demonstrate the potential of this technology to create affordable, sustainable, and personalized homes."
The Melbourne home will serve as a testament to the transformative power of 3D printing in the construction industry. By showcasing the intricate designs and complex features achievable with this technology, LUYTEN and UNSW aim to inspire a new wave of innovation in Australian housing.
The construction of the double-story 3D printed home is expected to commence this year, with completion slated for the Third Quarter of 2024. This project is a significant milestone for both LUYTEN and UNSW, and it promises to pave the way for a more sustainable and accessible future for housing in Australia.
