Infusion of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funds Aides FRP Readiness To Repair, Restore U.S. Roads And Bridges
By – Scott Reeve
There are more than 617,000 bridges across the U.S. Forty-two percent of all bridges are over 50 years old, and 46,154 of the nation’s bridges have been classified as structurally deficient. Yet more than 178 million trips are taken across structures considered to be in poor condition. In 2021, the nation’s backlog of bridge repair needs had reached $125 billion. That same year, The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law made the largest investment in roads and bridges since President Eisenhower’s funding of the interstate highway system in 1956.
To date, more than 4,600 bridge projects have launched and repair work has begun on more than 69,000 miles of roads. The bill awarded $800 million to cities and counties for planning and roadway safety projects. For more than two decades, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites have demonstrated the ability to provide structural bridge elements of all types and sizes.?Strong and corrosion resistant, our FRP prefabricated panels are lighter weight, longer lasting and quicker to install than traditional materials. Got questions? Let’s talk.
