Infrastructure Procurement - Government Inquiry Announced

A new parliamentary inquiry has been announced to examine procurement practices for Commonwealth government-funded infrastructure.

Such inquiry is very timely, given that the Australian Government has committed $110bn to a 10 year infrastructure pipeline, as part of Australia's Economic Recovery Plan.

The chair of the Committee that has been set up for this purpose said that "it is important that procurement practices for these government-funded infrastructure projects provide the best value for tax-payer dollars, and support developing Australian industry capabilities and Australian jobs."
