IIT Bombay is India’s highest-ranked institute, according to the QS Indian University Rankings. India’s premier engineering colleges dominate the list: the IITs in Delhi, Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Roorkee and Guwahati feature in the top 10 too. IISc (2nd), University of Delhi (7th) and University of Hyderabad (8th) also find a place in the rankings, determined by indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation and faculty-student ratio. Delhi has become the first Asian city to get Uber Transit, the ride-sharing major's public transport offering. Uber has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to provide real-time metro and bus schedules, along with walking directions for metro stations and bus stops. News reports say the new feature, a likely alternative to Google Maps, could be a precursor to launching Uber Bus (its shuttle service) in India. Transit is currently operational across select metro stations, but Uber said it would eventually cover all 210 stops in the NCR region. Join the conversation.

A ban on accessing work emails out of office hours could do more harm than good to employee mental health, a new study suggests. Research by the University of Sussex found that such a ban could improve certain people's stress levels by helping them switch off, but others would be prevented from achieving their work goals, resulting in even more stress and anxiety. HR body the CIPD told the BBC that employers should ensure that if people are accessing emails out of hours they are doing so because it suits them, not because they feel they have to. Uber Transit appears to be a good option to plan your trip from Point A to Point B. But by not ending the service there and providing additional services in the form of directions, schedules and routes of metro, it would allow Uber to build recall and increase app usage. Tracking user metrics like distance travelled, busiest hours etc. would become easier as well.
