InfosecTrain's Monika Kukreti Shares Her Inspiring Story

Meet Monika Kukreti, a Cyber Security Research Analyst at InfosecTrain who believes learning is the key to success. Let's catch up with the very creative, energetic, and courteous colleague Monika Kukreti to understand more about her profession, the nature of her work, and what is ahead.

1.What sparked your interest in this particular profession?

I would say that it's kind of a dream profession for me as I love reading. I had no plans earlier for this job profession because of my educational background. I have done B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Systems. And fortunately, I came across this job opportunity, and as time passed, my curiosity about the IT and cyber security domain sparked my interest in this profession. I had no prior experience in content writing, but I learned it quickly and efficiently.

2. When did you realize acquiring a job here was the right move?

I started working for the company as soon as I finished my 3 months of training. I trained extensively to perform my responsibilities as a content writer during my training period. I took everything up quickly, and it all came to me naturally, and I learned everything easily and efficiently.

3. What is something that was unique to this place?

I would say that InfosecTrain's flexibility, excellent work culture, supportive colleagues and seniors, and great work environment are praiseworthy, which differentiates InfosecTrain from other organizations. It's a privilege to have helping seniors and coworkers who guided me through my time here and taught me the consequences of everything I did or did not do.

4. What would you say about your role in the company?

As part of the Marketing Team, my role is to provide digital content, write articles, scripts, infographic content, and news articles, and write blogs for different social media platforms to educate people about the cybersecurity field.

5. Describe a professional role model who has inspired you.

I want to mention Abhy Sir, who has inspired and motivated me to do well at my job. His professional skills in handling situations and doing everything efficiently motivates me.

6. What about your job energizes and drains you?

I would say the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge daily energizes me. As a content writer, you need first to understand the whole theory about the specific topic and then deliver it in your own words so that it is understandable to both a technical and a non-technical audience. So it is my responsibility to understand the context of the topic and then deliver it in a simpler form. Although it would be harsh to call this the aspect of my job that drains me, keeping track of my daily tasks is sometimes tedious for me.

7. What has boosted your confidence?

I would say the knowledge and experience I have gained boosted my confidence. As part of my job, I learn new things every day to do better in my professional career, and the appreciation I receive from my seniors and the honest feedback they give me motivates me.

8. Describe a time at work that you particularly enjoy.

I would not pinpoint a specific time. I believe it is a part of working anywhere because sometimes working is exciting and other times it feels like ordinary activity.

9. What qualities most stand out about the folks you work with?

I consider myself fortunate to work with people who are always caring, supportive, understanding, respectful towards one another, and readily available when I need them. Because I was newer to the cybersecurity training domain, everyone assisted and encouraged me as I progressed through this new stage.

10. What are you most proud of?

Initially, during my training period, I was able to grasp and retain new information effectively. Because I was new to the industry and the field, I was given a few tasks, which I always completed, and I learned everything quickly and effectively.

11. What keeps you positive and motivated throughout the day?

I would say zeal to learn new things every day, which keeps me motivated and positive throughout the day.

12. How has your recent work-life balance been?

Honestly, I would say it’s not that great currently, though I am working towards achieving a sound work-life balance.

13. Do you believe your career is progressing?

I would say yes because I have learned a lot and am still learning. And I suppose that learning is a straightforward approach that allows one to grow.
