InfosecTrain's Devyani Bisht Shares Her Inspiring Story

Meet Devyani Bisht , a Technical Service Analyst and the Content Team Lead at InfosecTrain. Let’s catch up with the inspiring story of our mid-year award winner for outstanding performance in content delivery. Presenting the “Wizard of Words”- who is a super-active, enthusiastic, and well-organized person sharing her nature of work, work environment, and what’s ahead.

1. What would you say about your role in the company?

Initially, I started my career as a Technical Service Analyst and was responsible for researching and preparing technical content for the InfosecTrain blog page. Last year, I got promoted to Content Team Lead, and now my responsibilities include guiding the team, proofreading their work, and ensuring the content is plagiarism free and reliable. I’m also responsible for preparing marketing content like Youtube videos, Podcasts, PR content, etc.

2 .What sparked your interest in this particular profession?

Ever since I was a child, I have loved writing and used to maintain a journal. My love and passion for writing made me choose this profession in the first place. I used to write a lot, but it was neither technical nor formal enough to publish. Over time, I worked hard to shape my skills for writing, and now here I am, leading a team of writers.

?3.What is something that was unique to this place?

It’s been 2.5 years since I joined InfosecTrain, and I have seen the growth of this company. The unique thing about this place is that the company didn’t grow alone; instead, it gave everyone a chance to grow along with it. While many organizations focus on serving their clients, at InfosecTrain, I feel they believe in taking care of the employees so that the employees can take care of the clients. And the liberty to work from home and flexible working hours are other exciting catch to join this place.

4.When did you realize acquiring a job here was the right move?

Initially, I struggled a lot because I used to write creative and casual content, whereas technical content writing is entirely different. One day I came across an article with references from my favorite TV show. That day (since I watch a lot of series), I thought to use the dialogues and references to explain technical things creatively. Since that day, my style of writing entirely changed, and then I realized it was the best decision to be here.

?5. Describe a professional role model who has inspired you.

A lot of people have inspired me at InfosecTrain. My manager, I admire how casually he solves all the problems and often even listens to me ramble about many things. Then our Marketing Head, who is so calm and composed in every situation dealing smoothly. I have never seen him get angry. And our leader is an inspiration to the entire company; he is so energetic, approachable, and enthusiastic about things. My admiration for these people continues to grow.

6. What is something special about your line of work that you have learned?

There are a lot of things that I learned over the years, like how content plays a huge part in marketing. I understood the importance of writing because words have the power to change the course of action, and they can impact one’s mindset in understanding things in a proper way.

7. What about your job energizes and drains you?

As a Content Team Lead, every day is a new challenge for me. My day is so versatile that it hardly goes the way I plan. For instance, I plan and schedule a to-do list, but many times there are random tasks assigned to me. Sometimes it drains me when it takes a few hours to complete. But I often feel motivated; believing in my skills and working on challenging tasks keeps me energized.

?8. What has boosted your confidence?

At InfosecTrain, you have the liberty and freedom to present your ideas. When my ideas are implemented, it boosts my confidence. Also, when the management praises and appreciates my work, it too fosters my dedication.

9. Describe a time at work that you particularly enjoy.

If you love what you do, every moment is enjoyable. I enjoy my work, particularly when we have a virtual meeting and our HR team conducts a fun activity in which I really enjoy participating with my colleagues. People believe working from home might lack interaction with colleagues, but I never felt that. Consistent campaigns, meetings, and fun activities are conducted, which makes me connect with my colleagues and is an excellent chance to interact with them.

10. What qualities most stand out about the folks you work with?

InfosecTrain is like a family; everyone is very supportive, cooperative, and understanding. I am familiar with a few of my colleagues right from college, and we are more like friends than colleagues. Even though we’re working from different locations, we are accessible to each other whenever needed. Being at InfosecTrain is like coming back home.

11. What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of my team. Everyone in my team has a unique skill set. Someone is good at researching, another is good at writing, and someone is good at presenting the content. It is really great that we all work together and complement each other.

12. What keeps you positive and motivated throughout the day?

I feel a sense of satisfaction when I finish my work on time, and I strive hard to get that work satisfaction which keeps me positive throughout the day. Also, the thought of being free from work and getting time to watch my favorite show at night keeps me relaxed and refreshed for the next day. If I feel bored, I take a small break, take a walk around, check what’s kept in the refrigerator (one day, my refrigerator is going to take revenge on me), or watch a motivational or funny video to revamp my energy for work.

13. What is the best appreciation you have ever received?

Recently, we had a mid-year award ceremony, and I was awarded for outstanding performance in creating content. Everyone appreciated my work at InfosecTrain, which is the best appreciation and most memorable moment I would ever cherish.

14. How has your recent work-life balance been?

I am still working on it to have an excellent work-life balance. I feel more productive in the evening hours compared to the morning hours. I’m happy with flexible working hours so that I can work in the evening and late hours, maintaining my work-life balance.

15. Do you believe your career is progressing?

Indeed my career is progressing. Getting a promotion and being awarded the ‘Wizard of Words’ was really inspiring. InfosecTrain is the best place to grow.
