Information Security for the Busy Entrepreneur or Manager
Information Security is both wide and deep. You can easily get lost in the weeds and if you think about some of the risks too much, it can be paralyzing.
We recently published a new book (available at Amazon.com) covering what we consider to be the elements of Information Security most people need to be concerned with.
It's not in the weeds, but it goes much deeper than "have good passwords".
It's not a text book (hurray)!
It's not a fable (I'm not that creative).
It's a workbook, because your attention span is probably as good as mine. If you are going to invest your time in a book, it needs to either:
- Entertain
- Give you course credit towards a valuable degree or certification.
- Provide real-world value.
The aim of this book is to be of value and of service to the reader.
The book contains 42 one-page chapters on topics every professional should be comfortable with discussing in relation to their organization. Each chapter is accompanied with a number of questions you need to be able to answer.
- Read a chapter.
- Answer the questions.
- Improve your organization's security posture.
- Repeat.
It is available both electronically and in print. I recommend the print edition as the questions have space available for writing in your responses. We regularly go through these topics with and for our clients.
I hope you find value in the book and would appreciate your feedback on any recommendations for inclusion in a follow up edition.
