Most people think of privacy as something that protects them from prying eyes or unwanted attention. But privacy is much more than that. It's also about control – who gets to see and use our personal information.

That's why privacy is such an important issue, especially when it comes to our online activities. With so much of our lives now taking place online, it's more important than ever to make sure that we're in control of our personal information.

Privacy is considered a basic human right but, with so much of our personal data now ‘out there’ in cyberspace, how private can it really be?

Most of us are aware of the ways our personal data can be used – and abused. We know that our search histories can be tracked and used to target us with ads. We know that our social media posts can be used to build up a profile of our interests, likes, and dislikes. And we know that our emails and text messages can be read by anyone with access to them.

But what many of us don’t know is just how much data is out there about us, and how easy it is for others to access it. A recent study by the Pew Research Center found that 91% of Americans feel they have lost control over how their personal information is collected and used by companies.

So what can we do to regain control of our personal data?

For starters, we can take steps to limit the amount of data we share online. We can be more selective about the information we provide when creating an account or filling out a form. We can also adjust our privacy settings on social media platforms and other websites.

While creating a privacy policy may seem like a daunting task, there are a few simple steps you can take to get started. First, decide what personal information you want to collect from your readers. This could include their name, email address, or even their IP address.

Next, decide how you plan to use this information. Will you use it to send newsletters or promotional material? Will you share it with third-party advertisers? Or will you keep it strictly for internal use?
