NFL Enters New Technology Era With Sony


Sony has become the official technology partner of the National Football League in an agreement that aims to change the game on and off the field.

The deal will see Sony develop a new headset for coach-to-coach communication, while its Hawk-Eye Innovations arm will provide optical tracking technology – long familiar in sports such as cricket and tennis – to assist in decisions like line-to-gain measurements, and Beyond Sports will develop new real-time graphic visualization projects to engage younger fans.

Australian Sports Tech Sector Hits A$4.7 Billion


The business of sports technology in Australia is worth A$4.7 billion in 2024, according to new analysis from the Australian Sports Technologies Network.

The latest annual Sports Innovation Report found that the sector – which now employs around 15,000 people in Australia and accounts for 12% of the country’s $40 billion sports industry – is progressing from?a ‘growth stage’ to a ‘maturity stage’ as the 2032 Brisbane Olympics move into view.
