Infor FSM | Electronic Data Exchange (EDI) for Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX)
In this article we will talk about setting up jobs for the out-of-box delivered IPAs for Electronic Data Exchange (EDI). An example for this would be implementation of EDI for Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX).
I. Infor Process Flows
There are four (4) Infor process flows that are used for transmitting/receiving EDI files.
Navigation:?Process Server Administrator > Configuration > Process Definitions > Application Defined Processes
These DataExchange nodes will loop through the defined EDI Carriers and check if there is data to send or retrieve, based on the scheduled jobs.
II. EDI Outbound Job Setup
Navigation:?Job Console > Jobs
The ‘Job’ name should identify the type of job being run.?Name it something that will be easy to identify, such as Translate Outbound EDI. Type will be ‘Job’, then Enter a Description, such as ;Translate Outbound PO’ Enter the:
Class = PfiTrigger
Action = Start
Then click on Job Parameters – Select Record window appears.?Click on the magnifying glass, search Process Name ‘edi’, select EDIDataExchange_Outbound, click OK
Then click Save.
III. EDI Inbound Job Setup
Navigation:?Job Console > Jobs
Repeat the set-up process for Inbound jobs, as you did for the outbound job.

A job needs to be set-up for each Inbound job, setting up the EDIDataExchange_Inbound to run on the hour and the EDIDataExchange_Inbound_Translate to run on the half hour.?This will allow the data to load and not error.
IV. EDI Inbound Job Stream Set-up
Navigation:?Job Console > Jobs
By creating a Job Stream you allow multiple jobs to run in concatenation.
Job = identify the job by the transaction set being run.?Inbound856, Inbound 810, or by the Run Group Name
Type = Job Stream indicates more than a single job
Description = your definition of the job
Click on the save icon to save.
Once you click save the Job Stream Step List appears.?Click the Add icon.
The Job Stream Step Screen will appear.
Click on the magnifying glass.?The Select ‘Job’ Screen appears.?Select the jobs you want to tie to this stream; in the order you want the jobs to run.
Once the Job Steps have been identified they will appear on the Job Stream Step List.
Hope this helps.
